SKY Express: New Direct Flights to Hamburg Begin

As part of its strategic plan to expand its international network, SKY express has launched its new direct connection between Athens and Hamburg. The new route operates on a regular basis three times a week, specifically every Monday, Friday and Sunday. After Munich, Frankfurt, D?sseldorf and Berlin, Hamburg becomes the airline’s fifth destination in Germany, strengthening SKY express’ presence in a market of strategic importance for Greek tourism and the economy.

The new route is operated with the state-of-the-art Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, which have a reduced environmental and noise footprint. Today, the company operates 29 aircraft, maintaining the youngest fleet of any Greek airline.

With the addition of Hamburg, SKY express now consistently serves 27 international destinations, enhancing Greece’s position on the global aviation map and offering comprehensive travel options throughout the year. Recently, the airline added direct flights to Lisbon, Madrid, Berlin and Tel Aviv to its network, while Lyon will also join the flight program by the end of the year.

On the occasion of the first flight, Mr. Alexandros Michalopoulos, Sales Manager of SKY express, stated:
“The launch of direct flights between Athens and Hamburg is another important step in strengthening our presence in Germany, a market with strong potential and particular interest in Greek tourism. Our goal is to offer travelers from Germany reliable choices, competitive services and access to the largest network of Greek destinations, 365 days a year.”

Dirk Behrens, Head of Aviation at Hamburg Airport, said:
“We are truly excited to welcome SKY express to Hamburg Airport. The new direct connection with Athens enhances connectivity with a highly popular destination and at the same time offers more options for our passengers, whether traveling for leisure or business. At the same time, the route strengthens economic relations and tourism flow between Greece and northern Germany.”

SKY express, a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), serves a network of 33 domestic destinations, while continuously expanding its international presence with 27 international destinations and partnerships with leading airlines worldwide. It operates the youngest fleet of any Greek airline, consisting of 29 state-of-the-art aircraft that combine comfort, technology and a low environmental footprint.
