The City of Athens, through the Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth (OPANDA), together with the largest running club, the Offline Running Association, are organizing the beloved festive route for those who love running and Christmas.
This Christmas celebration, which combines the spirit of the holidays, positive energy, smiles and an opportunity for a bit of exercise, will take place on Sunday, December 21, 2025, starting from the Athens City Hall (63 Athinas Street).
The aim is for children and adults alike to actively participate in an event with a social purpose, spreading the message of solidarity and transforming the city center into a large festive celebration. Athens is getting ready to fill with Christmas colors and smiles.
Santa Run is a global phenomenon, a much-loved and established event held in major, iconic and vibrant cities around the world, such as Tokyo, New York, London, Athens, Venice, Budapest and Madrid.
The Route
The charitable, festive and symbolic Athens Santa Run (2.8 km) will begin at 10:00 a.m. from the most central meeting point of Athens, the City Hall. The route continues along Athinas Street with a view of the Acropolis toward Ermou Street, then turns at Agion Asomaton, continues onto Piraeus Street and reaches Omonia Square, finishing at the City Hall. The joyful and celebratory Santa Run will conclude with a return to Athinas Street and a festive finish at the historic Kotzia Square.
For a Good Cause
Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Reception and Solidarity Center of the City of Athens (K.Y.A.D.A.), contributing to the support of vulnerable social groups affected by poverty, exclusion and social isolation. K.Y.A.D.A. provides daily assistance, accommodation, meals and social integration services to individuals and families who are most in need.
In addition, part of the proceeds will go toward sports equipment for the needs of the City of Athens Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth.

Participation is limited to 1,000 adults and 300 children. Participation for children is free.
Pick-up will take place on the same day from the registration area at Kotzia Square.
All participants will receive a Santa Claus costume, a commemorative finishers medal and gifts from the event sponsors.
