Communication strategy of Ionian Islands in progress: Full-page advertisement in SKY express’ Fly Magazine

The Ionian Islands Region is activating a new promotional cycle with a full-page advertisement in the winter issue of SKY express’ fly magazine. The issue is released on 20 December and will be distributed on every seat of all domestic and international flights of the airline, as well as in the areas designated for premium passengers.

It should be noted that the call for expressions of interest published by the Region provides for a direct award for advertising services, with a budget of up to 7,000 euros including VAT, within the framework of sub-project 6 of the action “Tourism promotion of the Ionian Islands Region 2020.” The advertisement will use the Region’s approved layout and will feature the logos of the Ionian Islands Region, the Greek National Tourism Organisation, and the Operational Programme.

At this stage, the initiative is part of a broader communication plan to ensure presence in high-visibility media, aiming at steadily increasing the international recognition of the Ionian Islands and boosting tourism demand during the winter season. The procedure includes submission of offers until 16 December, while the contract duration extends until 31 March 2026.

In its call, the Region highlights that the contractor must work closely with the Directorate of Tourism, Culture and Sports, ensuring high-quality implementation and proof of deliverables through publication evidence.

Meanwhile, the Ionian Islands Region strengthened its outreach with an organized promotional activity in Barcelona, within the framework of the international exhibition IBTM 2026. The presentation took place at the Condes de Barcelona hotel, aiming at the region’s penetration into the international meetings and conference tourism market and the systematic enhancement of the Ionian Islands brand.
