More than 25 million American tourists travel annually abroad

More than 25,2 million American tourists traveled abroad between September 2014 and September 2015, 6% more than the previous 12 months.

Only in September, 2.6 million Americans travelled outside the US – 10% more than in 2014 – and 45% of those chose overseas destinations.

Outbound tourism

Europe attracted a 18% share of the total U.S. outbound tourism, the Caribbean 11%, Asia 6% Central America 4%, N. America 2% Middle East 3% and Oceania and Africa nearly 1%.

North American areas were elected by 55% of U.S. citizens with 37% going to Mexico and 18% to Canada.

Only in September, Europe welcomed 1,357 million American travelers, 9% more than the same month last year.
