Washington hailed the EU-Turkey migrant agreement closed Friday night in Brussels, saying the US was ready to increase its assistance to countries to stem the flow of refugees entering Europe.
The US characterized the EU Summit deal an important step for deterring the influx of immigrants into the EU.
‘We congratulate the signing of the agreement reassuring that all refugees deserve to have access to protection clarifying that the deal will be implemented in full accordance to European and International Law’, read a statement released by the US State Department.
