“Last minute reservations will be increased by 30-35 pct this year, as it was also the case last year,” Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura said in statements to Praktorio 104.9 FM on Friday.
Kountoura also expressed her support to the relatives of the victims of the terrorist attack in Nice.
As she said, external factors, such as terrorism, Brexit and the refugee issue affect the ‘sensitive’ tourism product.
“When our neighborhood is stable, there is security, and people travel more easily,” she said. She also estimated an increase ranging from 68 pct to 8 pct at the airports of the country, mainly by foreign tourists with high income.
