Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades has told Angela Merkel that the Republic stands “in solidarity with the German government” following Friday’s deadly Munich shooting which claimed at least nine innocent victims before the gunman killed himself.
“We mourn with those who have lost loved ones and stand in solidarity with the German government,” wrote the President on Twitter.
Cyprus’ Foreign Affairs Ministry released a notice following the attack to Cypriots based in Munich.
“After the terrorist attack that took place in Germany on July 22, 2016, the Ministry announces the following telephone numbers for Cypriot citizens who are in the country and their relatives wishing to contact the Ministry for consular assistance or other relevant information,” read an official announcement.
