At least one person has been killed, while multiple victims have been reported in Austin, Texas after a gunman opened fire in the downtown area of the city, local police wrote on Twitter.
NBC news cited EMS officials who said that a woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to reports on social media, between four and six people were injured in the incident. Multiple units have headed to 208 East 6th Street , the Austin-Travis County EMS said, as cited by KXAN news.
Several people with gunshot wounds are being treated by paramedics at the scene.
Austin police subsequently reported that separate shootings had taken place in the same area. However both incidents are now under control.
“We just literarily saw three people being shot in downtown Austin,” one local resident wrote on Instagram, after posting a video that showed the aftermath of the attack.
