A 22-year-old British tourist was murdered in Ayia Napa in the early hours of Sunday morning, Police believe after announcing the death and conducting an early investigation, reported SigmaLive Greek.
According to Police, two 22 year olds were walking on Grigoris Afxentiou street, close to Ayia Napa’s main square, when they were attacked by two unknown men with knifes.
One victim was stabbed in the neck and the other victim was stabbed in the back.
The two victims were then transported by ambulance to a private clinic in Paralimni, where it was announced that the one victim suffered trauma to the Carotid Artery and died.
The second victim suffered four wounds on his back and is being treated for his injuries. Hospital officials said the victim is no longer in a critical condition.
According to a description given to Police, one suspect was described as young and short, chubby, had short hair and wore jeans and a white shirt.
The second suspect was a similar age, short in height, short black hair and wasn’t wearing a shirt.
Famagusta Police are investigating.
