Three witnesses of the triple murder in Limassol had given their testimony to the Permanent Assize Court on Friday, SigmaLive reported from the scene, about the women, who read out their written statements with shaky voices.
Two of the women had been eyewitnesses to the fight that had broken out between the suspect on trial for the murder of three men, Christakis Thoma, and his victims, while the third unnamed woman had been his ex-girlfriend.
On Friday, SigmaLive reported the testimony of Thoma’s ex-girlfriend, who had described messages before and after the night of the murder.
Thoma has been accused of killing Paraschos and Constantinos Dorzi, 19 and 21, and Emilios Miltiadous, 24 on November 24, 2015.
The first eyewitness, who was called by the court to read out her written testimony, said that she had been a few metres away from the restaurant Thoma worked in near Iroon Square. She mentioned that she had been waiting for her daughter to finish from her ballet lesson on the night of the murder. The woman mentioned that shouting from the three men was heard as they attempted to ward off a fourth, who looked angry. She added that their shouting drove her to record the scene that was in front of her.
The woman told the court that she then had entered the dance school to pick up her daughter. She added that some time after she entered the school she saw police vehicles heading to a scene, raising her suspicions that something had happened.
Evidence of the fight
The unnamed eyewitness mentioned that she learned of the murder after she returned to her home. She added that she then informed her husband of the video she had recorded, leading to them deciding to bring the evidence of the fight to the police.
She was called on by the court to identify Thoma as the assailant in the triple murder, which she did.
Thoma passes second eyewitness carrying a knife
The second eyewitness to testify on Friday is a Master’s student at TEPAK in Limassol, who said that she had been near Iroon Square with her friends on the night of the murder.
The woman told the court that she had seen Thoma pass her in the area holding a knife, which he is then suspected of having used to kill the three men.
With a shaky voice the woman read out her full written testimony, she had given to police a year ago.
In her testimony, she said that Thoma had passed in front of her calmly and slowly. Asked to identify Thoma, the woman said that she could not remember, and that she only remembered a man passing her holding a knife, causing her to not be able to identify his face.
