A ‘terror attack’ is feared in Berlin after a lorry reportedly ploughed through a Christmas market killing and injuring shoppers.
Terrified market-goers have tweeted panicked images from the scene of the incident which comes an hour after the Russian ambassador was shot dead in Ankara.
At least one man has been confirmed dead according to local media, with dozens more injured as the vehicle smashed into booths and crushed people.
Video from the scene shows a huge articulated lorry smashed into the middle of the market on Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz.
Local police are saying the incident is probably a terror attack and the driver of the truck is believed to be on the run.
According to information from Die Welt, there have been suspicions of a potential attack on Berlin for days.
The incident occurred at about 8pm with the truck coming in from Kantstrasse destroying booths along the way.
