Prespa is preparing to welcome its visitors again this year with a festive three-day event full of music, flavors and traditional events. From October 25 to 27, the Municipality of Prespa is planning the “Tastes of Prespa” events for the second year, an institution that is gradually establishing itself as a point of reference for the local gastronomy and culture of the region.
The celebration began last year with great success, gathering a large number of visitors, and this year it is expected to have an even greater impact, as it coincides with the three-day event of October 28, a period during which the accommodation facilities in the region are already highly booked. The municipal authority’s goal is to promote local products, but also to highlight the special character of Prespa, through activities that combine taste, tradition and local creativity.
The program of events is rich and multi-thematic: The opening is scheduled for October 25, in Psarades, with musical skates and dance groups that will fill the picturesque alleys with the sounds and dances of Macedonia. At the same time, the Ceramics Structure of Psarades will remain open all day, inviting young and old to learn about the art of local ceramics through experiential activities.
The interest is transferred on October 26 to Laimos, at the City Hall, where an exhibition of local products will be open from 10 am to 5 pm. Producers, associations and groups of citizens will present their products, such as beans, Florina peppers, local cheeses, honey and wine, while visitors will be offered traditional snacks for free. At noon, traditional dances will be performed by the dance groups of Prespa and Lyngkista, followed by a traditional feast, setting the tone for an authentic local festive atmosphere.
The events culminate on October 27, again in Laimos, with a repeat of the exhibition of local products, as well as a large traditional feast at 5 pm, where the Municipality will offer bean soup and wine to everyone. This feast will serve as the finale of the events, with the participation of both visitors and residents who are expected to be in attendance.
At the same time, activities for children, handicraft exhibitions and traditional cooking workshops will take place throughout the three-day event, offering a multi-dimensional experience to each visitor.
“Tastes of Prespa” is not only a celebration of gastronomy, but a living invitation to a unique place, where nature, tradition and people meet with respect and authenticity.
