Costa Navarino connects with seven new destinations in Europe

Developers of Greece’s luxury resort destination of Costa Navarino TEMES announced that nine new direct flights and two new airlines will be landing in April 2016 at Kalamata International Airport ‘Captain Vasilis Constantacopoulos’, attracting even more European travellers and increasing accessibility to the destination of Messinia as follows:

British Airways will serve the destination with two flights a week through a route to London Heathrow every Thursday and Saturday.

Vueling will fly out to the destination from Rome Fiumicino, every Friday.

Moreover, Aegean Airlines will carry out six new flights this year from, Copenhagen (Mondays), Billund in Denmark (Mondays), Paris (Tuesdays), Lyon (Tuesdays), Milan (Tuesdays), and Nantes in France (Saturdays).

The expected rise in arrivals for 2016 compared with 2015 is estimated to climb up to 28%. The combined increase of international flights from 2010 (before Costa Navarino commenced operations) to the present will exceed 218%.

Increased access to Kalamata International Airport

The new flights are expected to bring an additional 25,000 visitors to Peloponnese as a whole. In conjunction, the immediate income from the increase in visitors to the destination in 2016 is estimated to be $19.2 million.

TEMES workd together with the Peloponnese Region to attract the interest of international airlines, which will increase access to Kalamata International Airport.

The company’s CEO Stephanos Theodorides noted: “We are excited that Aegean Airlines continues to trust the destination by expanding its network of destinations with the addition of six new routes, as well as with airlines such as British Airways and Vueling. Costa Navarino will continue its efforts to establish Messinia as one of the highest quality and recognised destinations in the Mediterranean.”

The new flights define Kalamata International Airport as one of the fastest developing airports in Europe and an important gateway to European residents.

Costa Navarino is an upmarket resort destination located in Messinia, Peloponnese.
