Athens remains among the cheapest European capitals in March 2016 since the average cost of hotel accommodation is confined to 83 euros per night, despite a 12% increase in prices compared to March 2015.
According to trivago, among the cities that have reduced prices, in comparison with the previous year, are London, Paris and Rome.
The average hotel price for London recorded this month was 177 euros, 5% lower than last year.
Paris faces a corresponding reduction of around 3%, almost as economical as Rome which has reduced its hotel prices by 4% compared to last year.
The most significant reduction is recorded in Istanbul hotels that are 20% cheaper at 78 euros.
On the other extreme, Amsterdam hotel prices have increased by 29% year-on-year and 19% month-on-month.
