Greece is among the top 5 vacation destinations for 2025, according to booking data collected so far and presented by Marriott Bonvoy as part of the “Ticket to Travel 2025” survey.
The country is in 5th place in the ranking of the most popular destinations for travelers in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa), garnering a 9% share in their preferences. Their first choice is Spain with a 24% share, followed by Italy, France, and Portugal, with percentages of 17%, 13%, and 9% respectively.
The same booking figures show that bookings to Abu Dhabi (compared to the same period last year) have almost doubled (+84%) and demand for Riyadh shows the second-highest potential for 2025 (+76%). The third, fourth, and fifth largest increases are in European destinations. Madrid and Krakow each saw a 37% increase and Manchester as a destination saw a 27% increase as a function of the “Oasis effect”, according to which travelers book accommodation in the band’s hometown to attend a series of concerts.
