The 90th HOTREC General Assembly was held in Oslo, Norway, with the participation of 47 national organizations from 36 European countries.
The focus of the General Assembly was on a more resilient and competitive future for the sector, in an environment of challenges and opportunities.
The main topics discussed were:
- over-taxation,
- financial tools for the green transition,
- a fairer framework for relations with large digital platforms that will ensure the interests of the hospitality, catering and consumer sectors,
- transparency in the digital landscape to put an end to fake reviews,
- human resources and upgrading their skills.

HOTREC President Mr. Alexandros Vassilikos made the following statement:
“The 90th HOTREC General Assembly sends a clear message: It is time to move from theory to practice in support of Hospitality. The backbone of the sector is made up of medium and small family businesses that, in order to remain competitive and sustainable, need European and national policies. Policies that will reduce taxes, reduce administrative burdens, and restore balance and healthy competition in the hospitality market. Policies that will facilitate the necessary technological and green transition, utilizing the necessary financial tools for this purpose. In this direction, HOTREC will continue to work with commitment and a firm orientation for a Hospitality with value for all.”
