Authorities have issued new decisions regarding hotel developments in Athens, Naxos, and Vouliagmeni.
Athens – Preservation of Antiquities in Psyrri
The General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture has approved the preservation of antiquities located in the central and southern undeveloped sections of the plot and the northern part of the basement at a hotel located at 3 Legrainiotou Street in Psyrri, owned by DA CHENG IKE.
Key approvals include:
Preservation in backfill of Pipeline 1 and Well 1, discovered in the southwest part of the property, which falls within a small open-air space of the hotel.
Redesign of the basement and part of the ground floor fa?ade due to the discovery of antiquities.
Visible preservation of antiquities found in the northern basement area, near the street boundary, specifically sections of Pipeline 1 and Sewer 2, integrated into the preserved area with a viewing corridor.
Manual dismantling of Wall 10 and Sewer 1 in the southern garden area due to their fragmentary state and lack of structural connection.
Naxos – Priority Demolition of Derelict Hotel
The Decentralized Administration of the Aegean has approved the assignment of the priority demolition of a derelict hotel in Alyko, Naxos to the company Amfialos O.E. The contract is valued at €558,664.58 including VAT.
Vouliagmeni – Divani Apollon Palace Approvals
The Municipal Community of Vouliagmeni has issued a positive recommendation for the construction of two pedestrian crossings on Agiou Nikolaou and Ekavis Streets, near the Divani Apollon Palace Hotel.
Conditions include:
Implementation of the Municipal Greenery Regulation, requiring the replacement of four removed trees with new plantings after project completion.
Relocation of a street name pole to a different spot.
Additional details:
The hotel’s owning company has received non-auction coastal use rights from the Municipality of Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni for 867 sq.m. of beachfront area at Agios Nikolaos for umbrellas and sunbeds, at a rate of €110/sq.m. annually. The company must ensure the presence of a lifeguard.
The municipality has also approved an extension of the parking lease in front of the hotel until April 19, 2026, with an annual rent of €7,971.35, adjusted according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) set by the Hellenic Statistical Authority.
The company may request a further one-year extension, six months prior to the current lease’s expiration.
These developments reflect ongoing balancing efforts between heritage preservation, tourism infrastructure, and urban planning in Greece’s key destinations.
