With an occupancy rate exceeding 90% since its first day of operation, NYX Hotel Thessaloniki opened its doors on Monday, September 1, a few days before the start of the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair.
The new hotel of Leonardo Hotels & Resorts Mediterranean, which since 2017 has undertaken the development of the Fattal Hotels Group in Greece and Cyprus, is an investment of 25 million euros.
By utilizing a building that remained unused for years at the beginning of Tsimiski, NYX Hotel Thessaloniki gives a new pulse to the city center. The choice of location was not accidental: just a few steps from Ladadika, Thessaloniki, with its strong cultural character, dynamic university community and strategic position as a gateway to the Balkans, is an ideal point for the further development of the group. This is the first city in Northern Greece where Leonardo Hotels & Resorts Mediterranean is investing, acting as an “anchor” for the region and a convergence point for corporate and leisure demand.
NYX Hotel Thessaloniki features 130 rooms and suites, fully equipped with smart TVs, USB ports and high-speed Wi-Fi, for a comfortable and seamless stay. The common areas include a lounge bar and restaurant with an urban aesthetic, a gym, a business lounge, co-working infrastructure and conference rooms for professional and artistic events.
Tatiana Violari’s signature in interior design, the works of street artist Gera1 and the emblematic creations of Kenneth Cobonpue enhance the hotel’s special character, offering an experience where hospitality meets art and modern urban culture.
The hotel’s Director, Mr. Konstantinos Ioannidis, stated: “NYX Hotel Thessaloniki is a destination in itself with urban design, comfort and experiences that are imprinted. The warm response and reservations, from the very first moment, confirm that Thessaloniki was ready for this kind of hospitality.
The CEO of Leonardo Hotels & Resorts Mediterranean, Mr. Roni Aloni, stated: “With NYX Hotel Thessaloniki we are strategically strengthening our presence in Greece and the Mediterranean. We are investing in cities with identity and future. We envision a new relationship between hospitality and urban experience: to create spaces that highlight culture, encourage creativity and support entrepreneurship. Thessaloniki has all the elements to become a point of reference in the region and we want NYX Hotel Thessaloniki to be a symbol of this dynamic.”
The philosophy of the Fattal Group is based on three main pillars: authentic experience, contemporary design and a deep understanding of the modern traveler. Its portfolio includes five distinct brands (Leonardo Hotels, Leonardo Royal, Leonardo Boutique, Leonardo Limited Edition and the lifestyle brand NYX Hotels) that offer unique experiences in 21 countries and more than 300 hotels in total worldwide.
In Greece and Cyprus, Leonardo Hotels & Resorts Mediterranean has already created 11 hotels (4 in Greece and 7 in Cyprus), with the aim of reaching 15 by 2026. Each new investment is based on strategic market analysis, respect for local culture and the goal of a commitment to sustainable development with a positive impact on society and the economy.
