Dozens of Greek hotels, businesses active in Greek tourism, and destinations across the country received awards at the European edition of the so-called “Oscars” of the global tourism industry, the World Travel Awards Europe 2025.
The awards, established in 1993 as a benchmark of excellence in global tourism, were presented yesterday, Wednesday, October 22, during a glamorous red-carpet gala ceremony held at the Forte Village Resort in Sardinia.
The event marked the fourth, European, leg of the WTA Grand Tour 2025 awards ceremonies, which take place around the world.
This year, Greece made a strong impression in European tourism excellence, earning 20 European distinctions and an additional 35 national-level awards.
Thus, Athens stands among the best of the best in Europe for 2025 as Europe’s Leading Cultural City Destination 2025, This is Athens – Convention & Visitors Bureau as Europe’s Leading City Tourist Board 2025, and the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace as Europe’s Leading Emerging Tourism Destination 2025.
