Aldemar: Hays Conference Completed – “Western Greece as a Hospitality and Conference Tourism Hub”

Aldemar Resorts announces the successful completion of Hays Travel’s annual “Hays Conference 2025”, which was held at Aldemar Olympian Village and concluded on November 17, 2025. This year’s event was a milestone for Greek tourism, confirming the potential of Western Greece as an international hospitality and conference tourism hub.

Hays Travel, the largest independent travel agency in the United Kingdom and a key shaper of European consumers’ travel choices, has chosen Aldemar Olympian Village for its premier multi-day event of the year.

As Aldemar points out in a relevant announcement, this choice is a strong vote of confidence in the quality, expertise and high level of services of the hotel complex and the wider region.

The event was honored with the presence of Dame Irene Hays, Chair & Owner of Hays Travel, further enhancing the prestige of the event.

The event was implemented with the support of the Hellenic Tourism Organization (HTO) and the Region of Western Greece, as part of strategic initiatives to strengthen the presence of the region in the United Kingdom.

The Vice President of Aldemar Resorts, Mr. Alexandros Angelopoulos, stated: “The bid to organize this year’s Hays Conference was the work of Aldemar Resorts executives, in collaboration with the HTO and the Region of Western Greece. The new road axis and the prospect of the Araxos airport change not only the options and the prospect of Western Greece, which also has the longest coastline in the country, but also the overall tourist map of Greece. This year’s event is clear proof that the cooperation of private individuals and the state can only record successes.

Presence of institutional bodies
At the opening of the conference, the Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Mr. Andreas Fiorentinos, delivered a welcome address, while the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Olga Kefalogianni, sent an institutional message via video, underlining: “It is truly an honor for us that Greece has been chosen as the destination for this distinguished annual meeting. Our cooperation with the UK travel industry has always been based on trust, respect and shared values”.

The conference was also attended by the Deputy Governor for Tourism Development of the Region of Western Greece, Mr. Panagiotis Sakellaropoulos, who emphasized: “We are opening new avenues of cooperation with the UK market and with leading international organizations, with Hays Travel as a strategic partner”.

Over 1,000 executives at the heart of tourism innovation
With the central message “It’s all about the mix”, the conference highlighted the role of innovation, know-how and strategic targeting in the new era of travel. More than 1,000 Hays Travel executives and partners participated in high-level presentations, interactive workshops and thematic discussions hosted at the Ilis Congress Center, contributing to the formulation of new strategies for the international tourism market.

The event was accompanied by impressive shows, theme nights and special events, while the participation of the internationally recognized British Davina McCall as a guest star added extra sparkle and international visibility.

A milestone for Western Greece
According to Aldemar, the completion of the “Hays Conference 2025” is a top distinction for both Aldemar Olympian Village and Western Greece, which is emerging as a destination capable of hosting international events high demands. The infrastructure, quality of services and strategic location of the area consistently place it among the most reliable conference destinations in the Mediterranean.
