Rhodes participates in Israel’s International Tourism Fair taking place on February 9 and 10 in Tel Aviv.
A delegation of the island’s professional representatives headed by Tourism Deputy Mayor Marisa Chatzilazarou, met with Israeli Tourism Minister Yariv Levin and leading representatives of the country’s tourism industry.
IMTM Fair is the largest Israel tourism exhibition attracting both global and local professionals.
According to Ms. Chatzilazarou, “Rhodes is the favorite destination of Israelis” since during 2015 the island was visited by 102,705 of them.
Israel is the 5th largest tourism market for Rhodes, surpassed only by England, Germany, Sweden and Russia.
Data obtained for 2016 show that Rhodes is currently the biggest attraction for Israeli tourists as the safest tourist destination in the entire region, a fact expected to significantly increase tourism traffic from that specific country this year.
