What relationship can there possibly be between a brandy, a tourism exhibition and three turtles?
Yet, all three combined thanks to the initiative of a Dutch journalist who participated with his own stand on behalf of Griekenland.net news website in “De Vakantiebeurs” exhibition last January in Utrecht.
Renowned philhellene Bas Wanrooij, adopted three caretta-caretta turtles, a wounded one named “Retsina”, a small one called “Sammy” and her mother named “Samantha” along with their nest, which was put under the “Archelon” organization care and protection.
The exhibition’s visitors had the opportunity to taste a glass of good brandy at a minimal price.
Thereby, 460 euros were gathered and given to the organization, while the whole initiative was published on Griekenland.net electronic newspaper, reflecting the importance of human sensitivity and having a positive indirect impact on the promotion of Greece.
