The number of tourists who arrived in Cyprus in 2017 reached 3.652,073 compared to 3.186,531 in the corresponding period of 2016, recording a growth of 14.6% and outnumbering the total arrivals ever recorded in Cyprus during a year.
On the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, tourists from the United Kingdom rose to 1.253,839 in 2017, recording a rise of 8.3%. The UK was the country where most tourists came from, followed by Russia with 824.494, which recorded an increase of 5.5 %.
A major increase of 76.1% was recorded in tourist arrivals from Israel in 2017, with 261.966 tourists. A sharp increase of 52.2% was also recorded in the number of tourists from Germany with total arrivals in 2017 reaching 188.826.
