Visit to Pieria by the Director of the Greek National Tourist Organization of Spain
On Monday, September 1st, following the invitation of the Pierian Organization for Tourism Development and Promotion (POTAP), the Director of the Greek National Tourist Organization’s Office in Spain, Ms. Kalliopi Kourousia, visited Pieria.

During her stay, Ms. Kourousia met with the Deputy Governor of Pieria, Ms. Sofia Mavridou, the Member of the Board of Directors of POTAP and Financial Administrator of the Organization, Mr. Stelios Ouzas, and the Director of POTAP, Mr. Vasilis Dimou. During the meetings, cooperation actions for the opening of Pieria to the tourist market of Spain and in general to Spanish-speaking countries were discussed.

On the occasion of Ms. Kourousia’s visit, Ms. Mavridou stated:

“The visit of the Director of the GNTO Office in Spain is an important opportunity for Pieria. Our goal is to promote our place to new markets and to highlight the comparative advantages that the region has, from Olympus, the Pierian Mountains and the sea to our culture and gastronomy. With collaborations and extroversion, we can open new paths for Pieria’s tourism”.

For his part, Mr. Ouzas stated: “The Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization invests in the strategic development of relations with important tourist markets abroad. The presence of the Director of the GNTO of Spain in our region strengthens the effort to systematically promote Pieria in Spanish-speaking countries and creates prospects for cooperation that will bear fruit in the immediate future.

Ms. Kourousia visited wineries in the region and had the opportunity to attend a comprehensive presentation of the destination, highlighting the wealth of experiences it offers from Mount Olympus and the sea, to culture, gastronomy and wine tourism.

This visit was an important step in strengthening the extroversion and promotion of Pieria in Spanish-speaking markets, opening up new prospects for cooperation and tourism development.
