Crete welcomes the first 5-star hotel of the allsun chain, as tour operator alltours dynamically expands its presence on the island with the newly built allsun Hotel Carolina Sun Beach in Malia. The luxurious resort, which combines classic Greek style with modern amenities, opened its doors for the first time on September 1, 2025 with a soft opening, while its official operation is scheduled for April 2026.
The founder and owner of the group, Willi Verhuven, emphasized that the new venture marks a new era for the chain: “With our first 5-star hotel, we send a clear message about the continuous development of allsun. Luxury, quality and personalized hospitality are the key features of our new unit.”

Carolina Sun Beach is located literally on the golden beach of Malia and promises a high-level experience. It stands out for its modern architecture with Mediterranean touches, natural materials such as stone and wood, as well as spacious areas. Guests will enjoy a large swimming pool with a chill-out bar, lush gardens and direct access to the sea.
During the soft opening phase, travelers will have the opportunity to book selected rooms, while they will also be able to use the facilities of the neighboring allsun Hotel Carolina Mare. By spring 2026, the complex will be fully completed, offering 113 luxurious Super-Comfort rooms, many of which with unlimited views of the Aegean Sea.
With this new hotel, allsun strengthens its presence in Crete, now having four units on the island. In total, its portfolio will number 32 hotels: 21 in Mallorca, 6 in the Canary Islands, 4 in Crete and 1 in Turkey.
