“The agreement with Cosco is only the head of the dragon. The hands, the feet and the body will follow” said Chinese ambassador to Greece Zou Xiaoli speaking to ANA on Sunday.
The Chinese envoy underlined that “the importance of Cosco project for Piraeus port does not only refer to the Greek-Chinese cooperation in the port but is also a symbol of mutual trust and China’s confidence in the Greek market“.
Zou called Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ visit to the Chinese capital ‘a landmark‘ adding that the Greek-Chinese relations are entering in a new era and it is a very good opportunity for their further broadening through cooperation, “the prospects lie before us” he said.
He said that Tsipras’ visit also “contributes in the mutual understanding, upgrades Greece’s image and promotes Greece’s position in the Chinese diplomacy and in parallel promotes the cooperation“.
According to Zou “there is a lot of energy for cooperation between Greece and China in all sectors, not only in the trade but also in culture and science” and after the signing of the agreement with Cosco on April 8, he has been the recipient of dozens of applications from Chinese delegations who seek cooperation with Greece.”
