Greek Energy Minister optimistic lenders will accept PPC arguments

Greek Energy Minister Panos Skourletis appeared optimistic that the government’s arguments on the non-selling of PPC’s 17 percent will be accepted by Greece’s lenders, in an interview with the Saturday edition of Efimerida ton Syntakton.

“Today the electricity market is opening and a series of institutional changes towards this direction have been implemented. ADMIE’s (Independent Power Transmission Operator) ownership is being separated from PPC and the state will hold 51 percent. We cancelled the law on the so-called small PPC and proceed with tenders for the electricity and the legislation of the target model. We talk about other conditions. Only a neoliberal inflexibility and obsession can justify the return of this plan” stated Skourletis.
