Thai investments are coming to the village of Pentakomo in the Limassol district for a technological park, SigmaLive has learnt on Friday.
Specifically, Jak Chamikorn, a Thai investor, is set to invest an unknown sum estimated at tens of millions of euros in the construction of the technological park.
The bidding process ended at approximately noon on Friday, with Chamikorn being the sole bidder in the process.
Chamikorn has constructed five technological parks in other countries and is the owner of another three.
The Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) has also confirmed the investment to SigmaLive.
Chamikorn is reported to have submitted the bid on his own to the Trade Ministry, accompanied by the president of CIPA Christodoulos Angastiniotis and the vice president Aggelos Gregoriades.
According to the plan that was submitted, the land in Pentakomo will be leased for a period of 50 years.
The plan also includes the construction of hotels and research facilities.
