Greece has what it takes to develop into a regional hub where the headquarters of multinational companies operating in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans would be located, New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Wednesday, according to sources.
He was speaking at a meeting with the Dutch Ambassador to Greece Caspar Veldkamp, members of the board of the Greek-Dutch Union of Commerce and Industry, and representatives of startups supported by Orange Grove.
Addressing managers of multinational companies, Mitsotakis said the country is a particularly attractive destination for foreign investments, noting his party believes in entrepreneurship.
However, he continued, the country is facing a large gap in investments. “Investments, as a percentage of the GDP, are at about 10 pct, when the European average is 20 pct. The only way for the Greek economy to return to growth is to be able to attract significant foreign investment,” he said.
