Greek FinMin: Works in former airport at Elliniko to proceed rapidly

Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos in his address to the parliament plenum reaffirmed on Thursday the government’s commitments to rapidly proceed the works in the area of former international Athens airport in Elliniko.

However, he said that there cannot be a specific timetable of the completion of the works.

Answering to Democratic Alliance deputy Odysseas Konstantinopoulos question, Tsakalotos explained that it is not possible to have a specific date because there are issues that do not lie within the government’s control.

The independent authorities involved in the work need some time to issue their decisions.

Tsakalotos noted that the problems with the Archaeological Service and the Forestry will be solved very soon and also said that the staffing of Elliniko offices has already started.
