Environment and Energy Minister Giorgos Stathakis met on Monday with the management of Hellas Gold, Vice President and general manager Eduardo Mura and managing director Dimitris Dimitriadis, to discuss the whole range of open issues regarding the company’s investment in Halkidiki.
According to a ministry press release, Stathakis welcomed the company’s decision to continue its operation in Greece and the official start of the arbitration process between the State and Eldorado Gold, the parent company. Ministry sources stressed there is optimism on the progress of the procedure, adding that the timeframe for its completion remains three months.
“It is the intention of both sides to complete the arbitration as soon as possible. The ministry of energy and Hellas Gold will continue their constructive dialog,” the press release stated.
