It looks likely that Greek state sell-off fund TAIPED is set to face a similar case to that involving the development of the plot at Elliniko, this time concerning a 40-million-euro tourism investment at Aghios Ioannis in Halkidiki, central Macedonia.
The 253,000 square meter plot was sold to the Mentekidis family in 2015, but no construction license has been issued yet.
This could take a while as Kathimerini newspaper understands the local forestry authority has decided to characterize 70 percent of the plot as forestland, hampering the investment further.
