Greece’s highest court gave the green light this week to the Atalanti Hills investment project in central Prefecture of Fthiotida, ruling that it is constitutional provided that a positive decision by the Central Administration Council for the Exploitation of Public Property follows within a period of 15 days.
The 1.5-billion-euro tourism project will be carried out by Lokros Real Estate in the forest area of Exarchos so that Council of State will specify the terms of land use for the investment plan which shall feature five-star hotels with an overall capacity of 8,872 beds.
Out of those, 2,990 beds will be in the hotels while the remaining 5,882 beds shall belong to 3,306 fully equipped vacation residences to be sold or rented.
Three 18-hole golf courses covering 1,703,465m2 of land are also included and, it is expected to generate 622 jobs during the first year of its construction, 5,500 jobs within the first 14 years of operation and, once completed, more than 8,000 employment positions.
Furthermore, it is expected to reach €46 million of revenues, €150 million earnings and €184 million sales per annum.
