ATHENS – Breaking from his usual rhetoric that Greece is a pillar of stability in the region, US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt said the country’s recovery from a lingering economic and austerity crisis is tied to attracting more foreign investors and businesses.
“We are committed to supporting the Greek government, Greece and the Greek people while entering this new phase,” Pyatt told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) while at an event in Thessaloniki ahead of America’s Independence Day on July 4.
Pyatt underlined the significance of America’s presence as an honored country at the Thessaloniki International Fair in September.
