The project that will complete Aktio-Amvrakia Motorway, seems to be back on track, after an appeal submitted to the Pre-litigation Appeals’ Review Authority, which, according to information of ypodomes.com, was discussed on November 22nd to be finally rejected.
This essentially entails that the tender process will now proceed, with the declaration of J/V AKTOR-TERNA as the temporary contractor. It is reminded that the J/V gave a discount of 49.85%.The rejection decision of the Review Authority has been particularly important, in view of the nature of the appeal that was addressed generally against all the companies for forming cartels.
The next day for the competition is the contract’s approval by the Court of Auditors, its ratification by the Greek Parliament and the final signatures that will enable the initiation of the construction period.
The project’s duration is scheduled at 30 months and, as long as there aren’t any further delays, it will be completed by the first half of 2022, delivering a modern, covered motorway of 48.5 km, with lanes per direction, connecting the Ionian Motorway (from the southern edge of Amvrakia Lake) ending just before the Underwater Road Link of Aktio-Preveza. It is noted that the eastern end of the Motorway, the so-called Amfilochia Bypass, has been prioritized and is expected to be completed within the first 6 months from the signing of the contract.
The project has secured financing from NSRF 2014-2020 (as a phasing project with funds from two consecutive NSRF programs).
At the same time, the first 15 km of Amvrakia Motorway, from Aktio to Vonitsa, are expected to be concluded probably by the end of the year, as the only pending work is the electrification of road lighting.
