The merits of Greece’s trajectory in both current and potential economic performance and growth were highlighted on Thursday by Matthias Hoffmann, director of the northern Greek branch of the German-Hellenic Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Griechenland), who spoke to Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
“Greece is on a good track and furthermore the macroeconomic data is positive, but we also see it in our daily lives. The phone rings more often, by German businessmen who are asking for information about Greece, and we are following this trend, we are becoming more and more active,” he pointed out.
Asked if conditions are better for further cooperation between Germany and Greece and for investments in Greece one year after the completion of Greece’s fiscal programme and under a new government, Hoffmann replied that German companies have shown a growing interest in investing in the last two years, regardless of the fiscal programmes.
Greece was a European neighbour for Germany and “has an innovation potential in several sectors, not just shipping, but also in the fields of renewable energy, tourism and other sectors too, on which one can build on,” he added.
