The Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE) has drafted a preliminary 10-year development plan for the period 2021-2030 – which is currently under consultation – with a budget of 4.4 billion euros, which envisages the electricity interconnection of the North Aegean islands using underwater cables, a project worth 935 million euros, ANA reports.
This project will be implemented in parallel with the interconnection of the Dodecanese islands, worth 1.477 billion euros, in three stages: the first linking Corinth-Kos and Kos-Rhodes, Nea Santa-Lemnos and Lemnos-Lesvos to be completed in 2027, the second, linking Aliveri-Skyros and Lesvos-Chios, Kos-Samos and Rhodes-Karpathos to be concluded in 2028 and the third, closing all interconnecting links by 2030.
