Greece’s Development and Investments Minister Adonis Georgiadis on Monday stressed that “we should consider the project at Hellinikon a work of national importance that links three different governments. The first contract started in 2014 during the Samaras-Venizelos government, the SYRIZA government then continued this, despite its initial objections, and it was completed by the Mitsotakis government. It is a project that symbolizes the continuity of three different governments”.
He said that the works will commence before the official transfer of the property, with zero risks for the public sector and only the private contractor facing potential risk, to save time as a final decision of the Council of State was still pending.
