Building permits recorded a significant increase of 24.3% during the period January – March 2021, compared to the same period last year, according to data announced Thursday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, CNA reports.
More specifically 1,897 building permits were issued compared to 1,526 during the corresponding period of the previous year.
The total value of these permits rose by 9.1% and the total area by 12.0%. The number of dwelling units recorded an increase of 26,2%.
The number of building permits authorized by the municipal authorities and the district administration offices during March 2021 stood at 747. The total value of these permits reached €199.8 million and the total area 206.1 thousand square meters. These building permits provide for the construction of 1,033 dwelling units.
