The “very close cooperation” between Greece and France in the defense sector, based on their broad mutual understanding regarding security in the Eastern Mediterranean and the wider region was one of the issues discussed in a meeting on Thursday between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and a delegation from the French Senate currently visiting Greece, headed by G?rard Larcher, ANA reports.
Mitsotakis stressed the strategic importance of the region, among others, as a hub to meet the energy needs of the European Union.
The prime minister also referred to the government’s reforms, noting that they had continued despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, and to a broader reorganization of the economic climate so as to further strengthen Greece’s position as an investment destination.
