Flyover project in Thessaloniki turned over for use by Greek ruling party in 2026

The flyover project in Thessaloniki’s ring road, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026, will be presented by the ruling New Democracy (ND) government, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis asserted on Monday.

During a tour of northern Greek projects – including the New Museum of Aegae and the reconstructed bridge over the Aliakmon River – Mitsotakis stopped in Thessaloniki to attend the signing ceremony for the project, budgeted at 373.2 million euros, ANA reports.

Speaking of other projects in the city, the premier said that Thessaloniki will have a subway and its antiquities in place by the end of 2023 or the start of 2024 and that the currently upgraded bus system of the city bears no relation to what the government saw when it came to power in 2019.
