The strengthening and deepening of cooperation between Greece and Qatar in tourism dominated a meeting between Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and the Ambassador of Qatar, Ali Khalfan Al-Mansouri, on Thursday, ANA reports.
Kefalogianni briefed the Ambassador on the huge opportunities that are arising at this time in Greece for investments in the tourism sector, underlining that Greece is one of the most popular tourist destinations for Arab countries, which is proved by the constantly growing number of tourists in Greece.
They also examined the prospects for signing a new and updated Memorandum of Understanding and for the exchange of know-how in tourism, as well as the promotion of air transport cooperation – especially to significant Asian destinations where there are no direct flights to Greece – to increase tourism flows.
Finally, they discussed a visit by Kefalogianni to Qatar shortly, exploiting the momentum generated by a very successful recent visit to Qatar by the prime minister.
