Major Openings of 2025
JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa Chania
Opened in June 2025 near Chania, this marks JW Marriotts first presence in the Mediterranean. The resort includes 160 rooms, suites, and villas with Aegean views, fine dining, a spa, and full-service luxury hospitality for international travelers. While the investment amount isnt public, the scale and quality suggest tens of millions of euros.
Rocca a Mare Heraklion Handwritten Collection
Managed by Tr?sor Hospitality under Accor franchise, this seaside resort features 36 rooms, a rooftop pool, lounge bar, Mediterranean restaurant, and a fully equipped gym. It offers a blend of elegance, comfort, and authentic local experience, reflecting Heraklions Minoan history.
Tella Thera Kissamos, Crete
This boutique 5-star sustainable hotel opened in July 2025 with 20 suites and an independent villa, using natural materials and environmentally conscious design. The investment was around 10 million, making it a prime example of small-to-medium-scale high-quality, sustainable hospitality.
Sound of the Sea Karpathos Tapestry Collection by Hilton
Reopened in 2025 under Hiltons Tapestry Collection, this boutique property signals international interest in niche luxury destinations. Although investment details are not public, it strengthens Greeces position as a regional hub for global hotel brands.
M?venpick Syvota
Accor opened Greeces first M?venpick Resort in Syvota, featuring 67 spacious and elegant rooms, mostly with Ionian Sea views, targeting family-friendly luxury stays.
Avali Hotel Corfu
The Avali Hotel opened with 76 rooms and suites under the Mar-Bella Collection, combining traditional hospitality with modern luxury, reflecting a strategy to expand premium local offerings sustainably.
Cabo & Unda Corfu
Mayor Group expanded in Corfu with two openings: Cabo, a seaside 5-star resort with an investment over 13 million, and Unda, a boutique hotel in Roda with an investment exceeding 30 million, offering boho-chic stays, private pools, swim-up suites, gastronomy, and wellness services.
NYX Hotel Thessaloniki
This new international brand hotel strengthens Thessaloniki as a year-round city-break destination, attracting high-income visitors.
Athens Capital Suites MGallery Collection
Located in a renovated historic building in central Athens, this boutique hotel opened in May 2025 with 19 suites, including a two-story presidential suite, following LAMPSAs strategy to develop small luxury properties in city centers.
Sokio Attiki Athens
The first Sokio hotel in Greece opened near the Attiki metro station with 35 apartment-style rooms, rooftop lounge, pool, gym, and concierge services. Three more Sokio hotels are planned in Athens and Halkidiki.
