Onasseio Cardiac Surgery Center reported a spectacular improvement in its 2016 results, continuing an economic turn made in 2015, thanks to an economic restructuring program.
The clinic said the liability/claim rate fell to 0.76 pct at the end of 2016 form 1.58 pct a year earlier, while expenses fell to 9.27 pct helped by a reduction in pharmaceuticals and material prices and a debt repayment policy which helped not to create new debts.
Cardiac surgery operations totaled 1,851 in 2016, cardiac cases totaled 6,017 and six heart transplant operations were made in 2016. Onasseio said hospital death rate remained low, falling 0.03 pct in 2016, while total emergency cases examined were 96,559 last year.
Dimitris Niakas, chairman of the board expressed his confidence that Onasseio Cardiac Surgery Center will repay existing debt and will remain on an efficient operation designed not to create new overdue debts.
