Greece’s capital Athens has submitted its bid for the title of the 2017 Emerging Cultural City of the Year along cities such as Los Angeles, Quebec, Venice and Oslo, which will be awarded by the international organization Leading Culture Destinations Awards.
The event will present 17 categories including the new “Climate Smart Award” for museums and cultural destinations with educational programs around one of the greatest future challenges: Climate change.
The winners will be officially announced at the Awards ceremony which will take place in London, at the newly opened Trafalgar St. James Hotel later today, where the category winners will each receive their trophy designed by United Visual Artists.
