The Municipality of Karpathos island has decided to launch a project for developing a plan for the promotion of a hiking tourism network aiming at boosting alternative forms of tourism, the enhancement of the natural, cultural and historical environment, the enrichment of the tourist product, as well as designing a pilot project of particular natural beauty to be included in the NATURA 2000 Network.
The work is titled “Action for the development of hiking tourism in the island of Karpathos and the Isle of Sharia” and includes:
– Recording of the paths
– Points of Interest
– Detailed electronic record of the trail network
– Design of an integrated proposal for the promotion and promotion of the network of trails of Karpathos and Sharia in a five-year period.
-Development of the “corporate identity” of the trail network, logo construction.
– Construction of a digital guide for hiking and guided tours for some of the routes of Karpathos and Saria that will be selected in the above stages, on the basis of their access.
