The Hellenic Ornithological Society invites the public to a free day of bird watching and activities related to the autumn migration of birds at the Antonis Tritsis Park in Ilion suburb of Athens on Sunday, from 11:00 to 14:00.
The event is part of the annual EuroBirdwatch event takes place in autumn annually in more than 40 countries and is internationally coordinated by the BirdLife federation. Several organisations will be collaborating on the event, besides the park authorities, including associations and local government authorities.
Activities will take place at the central lakes in the Park, north of the Greek capital, at the cluster of eucalyptus trees. They will include birdwatching, tour guiding, children’s workshops, and the freeing of birds in cooperation with the Anima association of protection and care of wildlife.
Visitors wishing to contribute to Anima may do so by bringing one or more of the following items: newspapers, dry food or tinned food for kittens, latex gloves, food for canaries or for blackbirds, wheat, and hay for rabbits.
