Symposium: Only culture can help Greece achieve year-round tourism

The 2nd International Culture Symposium, co-organised by the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce and the non-governmental organisation ‘International Relations for Culture’, was successfully completed according to Zozo Lidoriki, president of the NGO.

“It went really well. People’s reactions were really good. They all agreed that it was not just a symposium but a seminar,” Lidoriki noted in statements to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Tuesday.

One of the most important results of the symposium was that Greece can succeed in its goal of year-round tourism but this requires hard work and can only be achieved through culture. The video of the National Tourist Organisation was very good but culture was missing, she pointed out.

The issue of new technologies also played a very important role in the conference, as “it showed how you can disseminate the cultural product using the new technologies,” she added.
