Greece’s Secretary General for Media and Communication Lefteris Kretsos attended Focus 2017 in London, the meeting place for international production, promoting Greece as an attractive film location.
The Secretary General’s visit to London focused on promoting the new institutional framework for boosting the production of audiovisual works in Greece.
Mr. Kretsos met with representatives of the British Film Institute, the European Federation for Animation (Animation Europe), along with many other agents of the European and international cinematographic and video production and production of video games.
He held meetings with BBC executives such as Grant Welland, BBC Worldwide executive VP for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (CEMA), Natasha Hussein, Vice President and General Manager for Middle East and Mediterranean Region and Helen Keefe, BBC Head of International Policy, with whom he discussed the possibility of closer cooperation between the public broadcasters of Greece and the United Kingdom.
The Secretary General met with BBC World Service executives such as Frederick Durman, BBC World Service head of business development, Europe and Latin America, Steve Titherington BBC World Service Senior Commissioning Editor who examined potential ways of collaboration between BBC World Service and Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT).
