Greek man paddles in kayak for 160 miles around island of Crete

A Greek adventurer is half-way through his bid to paddle 260 kilometers (160 miles) around island of Crete in a kayak.

Manolis Loudaros, a passionate rower, set off from the southern tip of the Peloponnese on January 1 and after crossing the islands of Kythira and Antikythira, reached Gramvousa in the north-western point of Crete.

From there, he started rowing eastwards, making stops only to eat and rest.

Local media report that on Tuesday he was spotted near Viannos, halfway on the southern coast of the Greek island.

He will conclude his journey once he reaches Gramvousa again.
